Child Day Care Centre

At our child day care centre children can grow within a caring, secure and stimulating environment.  Offering space and time for children to explore and discover the world around them, providing opportunities for children to take controlled and calculated ‘risks. Usually at child day care centre children come from a variety of backgrounds, cultures and beliefs and this is reflected in child day care centre’s respect for each individual child and the way in which the child day care centre is managed.

At child day care centres, children are given praise and encouragement to develop their self-esteem within an atmosphere where they feel secure, valued and loved. Child day care centres want their children to be confident and develop a sense of achievement through exploring and discovering, learning through experiences that are pleasurable and rewarding.

At child day care centres, Children participate in a range of activities which take due account their developing physical intellectual, emotional and social abilities.  Children are encouraged to think and talk about their learning and develop self-control and independence.  There are appropriate periods of time for learning through sustained involvement in concentrated activity.  At a child day care centre, children are encouraged to establish effective relationships with peers, adults and be sensitive to the needs and feelings of others.

Child day care centres encourage an interest in learning by providing varied activities and having a range of toys and equipment available for children to choose from.  Self-help and social skills are developed through adult interaction and support.  Children are encouraged to discuss their experiences and activities undertaken at the centre.  Practitioners will observe and assess children following the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE (EYFS)

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is a stage of children’s development from birth to the end of their first (Reception) year in school.

The EYFS Framework describes how early years practitioners should work with children and their families to support their development and learning it describes how your child should be kept safe and cared for and how all concerned can make sure that your child achieves the most that they can in their earliest years of life.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework supports an integrated approach to early learning and care. It gives all professionals a set of common principles and commitments to deliver quality early education and childcare experiences to all children at our child day care centre.

As well as being the core document for all professionals working in the foundation years, the EYFS framework gives parents the confidence that regardless of where they choose for their child’s early education, they can be assured that the same statutory commitments and principles will underpin their child’s learning and development experience.

 STAFF TRAINING

Child day care centres believe that good quality staff are the most important resource. Staff are valued and are encouraged and motivated. Individual opportunities are supported through the provision of appropriate and relevant training opportunities.
