Creche Western Cape

Creche Western Cape

Vision

Creche Western Cape embraces childhood as a magical time.  The school is designed to feel like a home away from home for children and their families. Creche Western Cape is a place where parents can feel confident that their children are receiving the very best care and education.

At Creche Western Cape we strive to make every day a learning day, filled with new and wonderful experiences to help young learners find what interests and inspires them.

It is our joy and pleasure to help families find just the right early education setting for their children and we’re sure it’s here with us, in a safe and comfortable place where learning is full of fun.

Creche Western Cape is one of the largest creche’s in Western Cape, and our size reflects our experience: with years of outstanding childhood education research and practical application to create the best possible setting for children (and families) with big hopes, dreams, and ideas.

Our Nursery Program

Our program at Creche Western Cape is designed to allow two-year-olds to learn through play while encouraging (and noticing) individual interests. By promoting independence and developing an emerging awareness of social behaviour, we help young learners expand their world beyond the home to the school community. Teachers support growing independence by providing opportunities for classroom jobs: putting things away, pouring milk, washing hands, and choosing materials and activities during centre time. Many opportunities are provided to increase a child’s ability to communicate by developing active listening and expressive language skills.

Throughout the day at Creche Western Cape, children make self-directed (but carefully guided choices), participate in small groups, take part in circle time, and build the confidence needed to try new things. Children enjoy free play to allow creativity and imagination to flourish. Teachers facilitate opportunities for children to engage in reading, writing, listening, and speaking using poems, finger plays, puppets, singing, and rhyming.

The development of language, math, and science is emphasized through whole-group work and encouraged during centre time. Thematic units are developed to encourage children to investigate new skills and ideas. As children show an interest in potty training, teachers partner with parents to help accomplish this important milestone with pride. A consistent approach and an encouraging environment are the keys to successful potty training, supporting both children and their families with care and concern.

Our goal at Creche Western Cape is to promote every child’s development individually using an appropriate mix of academic and recreational activities.
